The Hancock County Health Department has the authority to require students in Hancock County school systems to isolate or quarantine, as well as to determine when such students may return to school. Please utilize this page for the latest updates from the CDC, State Health Department or EH School Guidelines.

Students who exhibit symptoms from the COVID-19 Symptom List:
All students exhibiting symptoms will be required to remain home from school for 5 days days UNLESS they can produce a negative COVID test OR have an alternate diagnosis from a doctor.

Students with a known exposure to a COVID positive individual:
Elementary exposed students will be required to remain home from school for 5 days from point of contact and can then return with a mask for days 6-10. This does not apply to vaccinated students or those who have tested positive in the past 90 days. Middle/High Students will receive a Skylert informing them of exposure, but they will not have to quarantine unless exposure is due to activities outside of the normal school day.

Home-test kits:
These tests may now be used per the Indiana Department of Health. Copies of test results can be emailed to along with student name, date of birth, and date of test.

COVID-19 Numbers:
The state of Indiana updates the number of cases reported in each school weekly. You can access that dashboard HERE to find the numbers reported in each of our schools. Select "School" and then filter which individual school you would like to see the update for.
