The Hancock County Health Department has the authority to require students in Hancock County school systems to isolate or quarantine, as well as to determine when such students may return to school. Please utilize this page for the latest updates from the CDC, State Health Department or EH School Guidelines.

Self-test:
Each day we are asking parents/students to self-screen for any of the COVID-19 related symptoms listed on this page. Any student who exhibits one or more of these symptoms that is not otherwise explained will be quarantined from school for at least 10 days. 

 

UPDATED 9-8-20:  Please see the any of the first three items listed under "Resources" for the most up-to-date requirements regarding symptoms, testing, close contact definitions and quarantining.

 

ANY STUDENT WHO IS QUARANTINED FROM SCHOOL IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION WITH EASTERN HANCOCK VIRTUALLY DURING THIS TIME. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR BUILDING PRINCIPAL TO SET THIS UP.

COVID-19 Related Symptoms:

  • A fever of 100.4° F or greater
  • Sore throat
  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever
  • Loss of taste or smell
