Staff COVID-19 Information

The Hancock County Health Department has the authority to require staff in Hancock County school systems to isolate or quarantine, as well as to determine when such staff may return to work. Please utilize this page for the latest updates from the CDC, State Health Department or EH School Guidelines.

Self-test:
Each day we are asking staff to self-screen for any of the COVID-19 related symptoms listed on this page. Any staff member who exhibits one or more of these symptoms that is not otherwise explained will be quarantined from school for at least 10 days.

COVID-19 Related Symptoms

  • A fever of 100.4° F or greater
  • Sore throat
  • New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Abdominal pain
  • New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever
  • Loss of taste or smell
