The Hancock County Health Department has the authority to require staff in Hancock County school systems to isolate or quarantine, as well as to determine when such staff may return to work. Please utilize this page for the latest updates from the CDC, State Health Department or EH School Guidelines.
Staff who exhibit symptoms from the COVID-19 Symptom List:
All staff exhibiting symptoms will be required to remain home from school for 5 days days UNLESS they can produce a negative COVID test OR have an alternate diagnosis from a doctor.
THIS APPLIES TO ALL STAFF, VACCINATED OR NOT.
Staff with a known exposure to a COVID positive individual:
Elementary exposed staff will be required to remain home from school for 5 days from point of contact and can then return with a mask for days 6-10. This does not apply to vaccinated staff or those who have tested positive in the past 90 days. Middle & High School staff will not be asked to quarantine as long as everyone exposed was masked.
Home-test kits:
These tests may now be used per the Indiana Department of Health. Copies of test results can be emailed to jtoth@easternhancock.org along with staff member name, date of birth, and date of test.
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SUPERVISOR AND/OR JENNY TOTH, HR SPECIALIST, WITH QUESTIONS.
