Guidance Counselor

Welcome EH families! I am Madison Hamblin, and I am the school counselor for Eastern Hancock Elementary. My journey started at Eastern three years ago, and I have happily made this place my home.

I am originally from Seymour, Indiana (birthplace of John Mellencamp). I graduated Indiana State University with a bachelor’s in psychology and later went on to receive my master’s in School Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. Prior to EHES, I spent several years working in child welfare and had the opportunity to interact with families of all walks of life!

My main goal is to develop a strong rapport with all my students. Whether it be through individual counseling, group counseling, or classroom guidance lessons, I want the kids to feel heard and important. Students may request to meet with me for various reasons such as peer conflict, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, and changes within the family. Teachers will often communicate with me if they feel a student would benefit from meeting with me as well.

If you have any information that would be helpful for the school to know regarding your child, please feel free to contact me at the information listed below.
